Azerbaijani Cookbook Wins Gourmand Best in the World Award
LOS ANGELES, CA, June 13, 2015— On June 9, 2015, Gourmand World Cookbook Awards announced Pomegranates and Saffron: A Culinary Journey to Azerbaijan Best in the World in the Special Awards of the International Jury category. The book garnered one of the most prestigious and highest titles many cookbooks published in 2014 competed for. The event, organized by the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards, took place in the city of Yantai in China.
“Pomegranates and Saffron” is the first cookbook on Azerbaijani cuisine published in the US by AZ Cookbook. In the 320-page Pomegranates and Saffron readers can explore over 200 tempting recipes for appetizers and salads, soups and stews, pasta, meat, vegetable and egg dishes, breads, saffron rice pilafs, aromatic drinks, and desserts, all adapted for preparation in a Western kitchen. The book is comprised primarily of never-before-published recipes, along with favorites from the author’s blog, azcookbook.com. Interspersed throughout the text are glimpses of local culture and traditional food-related proverbs that will make the reader’s adventure even more memorable.
The Second Edition of the book is scheduled for release on September 30, 2015. It is currently available to pre-order on http://www.azcookbook.com.
